Aims

The goal of the DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education is to drive forward a high-quality, responsible education that promotes equity and is internationally compatible. It makes a significant contribution to this with educational research, digital infrastructure and targeted knowledge transfer, addressing science, universities, schools, daycare centers, administration and politics.

There is a great need for these services, as the education system and the corresponding research are facing immense challenges. The aim is to digitally modernize knowledge and educational offerings and their use, to achieve the fairest possible participation in education, to further improve individual support and to design these offerings in such a way that they lead to a sustainable and shared responsibility towards others and the earth. Against this background it is important that politicians, administrators and educational institutions can make decisions and act based on reliable information. The successful transfer of knowledge for education in turn requires close cooperation between these groups and the scientific community.

The DIPF is responding to these needs by constantly updating its strategic positioning, its thematic priorities and the guidelines for its work. This report provides an insight into the goals and achievements as well as the key points of the current organizational development.
