Services

The Institute combines excellent research work across all departments with outstanding educational information services. Its work is interdisciplinary and based on the principles of open science. The research approach is fundamental as well as application-oriented and internationally anchored. The DIPF examines education from a systemic, institutional, individual, digital and historical perspective and critically reflects on existing concepts of quality, governance and development. Its research-based and demand-driven infrastructures offer all interested parties comprehensive, free and responsible access to information and data on education. This forms the basis for a digital and participatory education and research space.
Among the DIPF's diverse work, four overarching strategic areas of focus should be emphasized: (a.) Research on differential educational conditions and educational trajectories, (b.) education in the digital world, (c.) open science and (d.) transfer and transfer research. Examples of services and offerings are:
- Education portals such as the German Education Server, the Education Research Portal, peDOCS or bildungsgeschichte.de
- Research centers as IDeA (Individual Development and Adaptive Education of Children at Risk) and the Center for Technology-Based Assessment @DIPF (TBA)
- Coordination activities for example of the research association for the Startchancen program, the Leibniz Education Research Network (LERN) and the German Network for Educational Research Data (VerbundFDB)
- Policy advice at federal and state levels, such as the national report on education „Education in Germany“, which is realized under the auspices of the Institute
- Currently around 100 scientific projects
